You Have to Jump

I remember standing on the edge of what felt like a mountain—heart wide open, arms stretched toward heaven, eyes closed in full surrender. I was ready. Ready for whatever God had for me. I kept praying, “God, I’m ready. Use me. Just push me.”

But nothing happened.

Day after day, I stood there. Willing. Eager. Still. I couldn’t understand why He wasn’t moving me forward. I thought maybe He was waiting for more surrender, more readiness, more something. But then one day, I heard Him whisper something that changed everything:

“You have to jump.”

Not wait.

Not beg.

Not even be pushed.

Jump.

It wasn’t that God wasn’t calling me—it was that I wasn’t moving. I was ready in word but hesitant in action. I wanted God to do the initiating, but He was asking me to trust Him enough to leap.

Sometimes faith looks like waiting. But other times, faith looks like moving.

Sometimes we pray for a door to open or a path to be lit… and sometimes we’re just called to jump and trust that He’ll meet us in the air.

Maybe today, you’re standing on your own cliff’s edge. Maybe you’ve been saying, “God, I’m ready.” But maybe what He’s saying back is:

“Then jump.”

Reflection Question:

What “cliff” are you standing on today? What leap of faith might God be inviting you to take?

Prayer:

Lord, give me the courage to move when You say move. Forgive me when I wait for a push You never promised. Teach me to trust You enough to leap—knowing You are already there, catching me, guiding me, leading me. Amen.
